It’s getting a little prickly out there!

I don’t know about you, but I’ve certainly noticed that it’s getting a little prickly out there! It seems we’re in the midst of the perfect storm of stressors with no clear end in sight.  Even the most optimistic and blessed oscillate between feeling strong, hopeful  and grateful to tired, dispirited and downright scared!  This rollercoaster of emotions is exhausting. Sadly the young children in our midst are not immune from these swings.  As I explain to them, “our bubbles are touching,” and consciously or unconsciously we are all affected.

As a consequence, it is all the more important to routinely evaluate your emotional landscape by taking what I call ~ “Time-out for Time-in”.   To that end, I am excited to recommend a wonderful series of Mindfulness Cards: Mindful Kids - 50 Mindfulness Activities for Kindness, Focus and Calm.*  The cards are broken down into 5 categories: Start Your Day, Find Calm, Focus, Open Your Heart, and Rest & Relax.  Whether you choose to select cards randomly or methodically matters not!  The important thing is that you enjoy exploring them together and come discover mindfulness tools for calming, centering and self-soothing that resonate with YOU!

The cards are beautifully illustrated and offer clear, easy, step-by-step instructions  for children between the ages of “4-104"!!!  Hats off to author Whitney Stewart, illustrator Mina Braun and the team at Barefoot Books for this timely tool!
